On May 31, 2023 five of the 9 artists in our collective, Dandelion Black Women Artists met at the Library of Congress' historic Jefferson building to officially hand over our collaborative artists' books project to Stephanie Stillo and Katherine Blood for inclusion in the Library's Rare Books and Special Collection Division. We spent 2 hours recounting stories of the project and our process. In addition to the books we gave the library a hard drive filled with photos, videos, conference presentations, media reviews and links related to the project. The impact of this transformative and traumatic time will live on in the books and talks we hope to give contextualizing the project. After saying good-bye to the books, we had a tour and ended with a lovely lunch in the Madison Building cafeteria. Julee Dickerson-Thompson; Aziza Claudia Gibson-Hunter, Pamela Harris Lawton, Francine Haskins and Kamala Subramanian were there for this special moment. Marya McQuirter, who made this acquisition possible was also there.
