Francine's background reflects her signature style---the image of a Black woman's profile takes up most of the space in her background. Her body is surrounded by textured circles and the negative space cutouts from the circles. Smaller portraits of well-known African Americans such as a stamp of the first Black woman federal judge, Constance Baker Motley, and journalist/activist Ida B. Wells Barnett. The 9 nine small works she's creating for the collaboration are profiles and frontal views of Black women.
